BeLikeTommy Project Invites Newcomers and Loyal Followers to the 3rd Annual Golden Gala—A Golden Opportunity to Support a Worthy Cause

Mound, MN – The BeLikeTommy Project proudly presents the 3rd Annual Golden Gala, a heartwarming celebration of kindness and community, set for November 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM at the stunning Lafayette Club. This event brings people together with one mission: to spread joy and create lasting memories for families in need through the BeLikeTommy Project. 

The nonprofit extends a warm invitation to those unfamiliar with the organization to attend and help spread awareness of the cause throughout the greater Twin Cities. Everyone is encouraged to attend and participate in making a difference—this event is open to all who share a desire to bring kindness and joy to those that need it most.

The evening will feature live music from The Selmer Effect, cocktails, heavy appetizers (food service ending at 8 PM), and an array of activities, including a silent auction, live auction, ornament decorating and more. All proceeds will support the BeLikeTommy Project, dedicated to creating joyful experiences for individuals and families facing hardship. These moments of joy provide relief and comfort to those in need, offering them a chance to celebrate and create lasting memories during difficult times.

“We want to emphasize that this event is for anyone and everyone. We were inspired to create the foundation by our son, Tommy, but it’s much bigger than that now. It’s about raising money to create joyful experiences—like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but you don’t need to be sick. We’re inviting the entire metro area to join us in making a difference,” said Nicole Nash, president of the BeLikeTommy Project.

“The BeLikeTommy Project is expanding, and with the support of the Golden Gala, we’re able to bring hope and joy to more families through experiences that lift their spirits and lighten their burden,” Nicole added.

The foundation is also raising money through their annual Tommy’s Trees campaign. A Tommy Tree is a beautiful 4-foot artificial tree adorned with colorful lights, delivered and installed in your yard for $50. Each tree comes with the 2024 Be Kind weatherproof ornament. Not only do the trees bring joy to homeowners and neighbors, but the proceeds from the tree and ornament sales go directly to WeCAN to support families in urgent need this holiday season. About the BeLikeTommy Project:
The BeLikeTommy Project was created in 2021 by the Nash Family after Tommy Nash, a 14-year old in Mound, MN, died from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Founded to honor Tommy’s legacy, the foundation fills a void of providing joy and kindness to youth and families facing tough times whereas other organizations provide food, clothing, etc. (One example is holding a birthday party for a child whose family can’t afford it). Funds also go to supporting other organizations focused on inclusion and bringing kindness and joy to others.
